Justin Johnson is a dynamic and foresighted business leader focused expanding AT&T’s fiber network reach. With a strong background in technology and telecommunications, Justin has an innate ability to identify opportunities and spearhead strategic initiatives that drive growth and create lasting partnerships. He is known for his efforts to bridge the digital divide through public-private partnerships, as well as forming strategic collaborations with open access providers including the joint-venture with Gigapower focused on expanding fiber outside of AT&T’s traditional footprint.
In his role as Assistant Vice President of Broadband Business Development, Justin is responsible for the expansion of AT&T’s fiber footprint through alternative funding channels like the American Rescue Plan, Broadband Equity Access and Deployment, and other government subsidy plans. Together with his team, he is responsible for state-by-state subsidy strategies and driving tactics to close the digital divide. In addition to this role, his team is responsible for creating strategic alliances that helps expands consumer opportunities for high-speed internet.
Prior to this position, Justin played a pivotal role in Corporate Strategy supporting both wireless and broadband initiatives. His multifaceted career at AT&T also includes key positions in various finance domains such as financial planning for the core communications company, managing the divestiture of DirecTV, providing CFO support for wireless operations, and overseeing capital planning for the consumer division.
Before joining AT&T, Justin built a strong foundation as an engineer at Texas Instruments. There, he was instrumental in the startup and growth of a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing facility, where he managed new process development and yield optimization.
A native of Dallas and proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Justin holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Finance from the university. He resides in the Dallas area with his wife and three daughters.
