Gilberto was born in Argentina, where he graduated as an Industrial Engineer from UCA Buenos Aires with honors and received the CAI “Patricio Shanley Award for Overall Engineering Studies Performance.” He earned a post-graduate title in Advanced Management from UNC Chapel Hill, USA.
Gilberto has 36 years of experience in sales, product management, project management, marketing, and business development, focusing on broadband technologies like DSL, DOCSIS, and PON across Argentina, Spain, Asia, and the USA. He retired from COMMSCOPE after supporting FTTH development in Africa, particularly in Kenya and South Africa. An active member of the Fiber Broadband Association since 2008, Gilberto is a Certified Fiber Installer and a Certified Fiber Optics Instructor. He helped launch the LATIN AMERICA Chapter of the FTTH Council AMERICAS, serving in various leadership roles. He currently consults on fiber access networks and teaches at Wake Technical Community College in NC, helping students become CFOT certified by the FOA.
